Technology innovation, expansion of customer base drives growth
FOSTER CITY, Calif., October 6, 2009 – While most technology companies continued to struggle in 2009 against the economic downturn, E2open experienced remarkable growth. E2open is the leader in on-demand, multi-enterprise solutions that provide visibility and control across global demand and supply networks. Largely contributing to the company’s growth are a number of new customer wins and significant expansions by existing customers, including Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, Embraer, LSI and Xerox.
Increased customer interest is a result of E2open’s focus on product innovation that directly addresses the biggest challenges currently facing the industry and its customers. In July 2009, the company launched E2open 7.0, providing the first and only single platform that supports a truly integrated, end-to-end demand-supply network. With E2open 7.0, customers can link their buy-side and sell-side operations with one business process management solution. Customers now have a truly standardized platform sharing a common data model, which provides the building blocks to extend E2open’s footprint on both the demand and supply sides of their networks. Several customers are already live on E2open 7.0, while a number of others are in the process of implementation.
In addition to heightened customer interest, peers in the industry recognized the success of E2open and its customers in 2009. E2open customer Celestica won Aberdeen Group’s “Innovation in Technology Award,” and customers Cisco, Dell, and IBM placed in the top-five ranking for “AMR Research Supply Chain Top 25” for 2009. Additionally, E2open won several industry awards, including SupplyChainBrain’s “100 Great Supply Chain Partners,” JMP Securities’ “Hot 100” Private Software Companies, “2009 Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100,” and Bay Area’s "Best Places to Work" finalist award from the San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal.
E2open is well positioned to continue its rapid growth as its solutions help solve the critical issues that will continue to challenge demand-supply networks, including:
- Globalization and Multi-Tier Requirements for Better Visibility and Collaboration: ROI is driving the outsourcing of manufacturing as brand owners focus on marketing, products, IP, and new business models. E2open’s SaaS solutions and cloud computing model are long-term solutions that companies use to evolve and create sustainable demand-supply networks.
- Demand Management: Manufacturers require increased visibility to manage and respond to demand when and where it happens; many companies are therefore turning to SaaS solutions to gain 100 percent visibility into their true demand as well as visibility into their stock in channel.
- Business Process Platforms: Beyond technology, companies are seeking business process management platforms to enable visibility and control in today’s multi-enterprise environments. E2open’s business process platform provides visibility and collaboration capabilities to 100 percent of trading partners across multiple tiers of the demand-supply network.
- Sustainable Supply Chains: Sustainability is becoming one of the dominant drivers around product and supply chain innovation to track and reduce energy use while simultaneously making the supply chain more transparent.
“Accelerating top-line growth and maintaining the high level of customer satisfaction we have enjoyed in the past is critical to our future growth. To accomplish this, E2open is committed to maintaining our position as a technology innovator and product leader as we address some of the important issues facing companies today. We are on track to demonstrate very strong growth for the year,” said Mark Woodward, President and CEO, E2open.
