More data integration options, new self-service tools and enhanced business intelligence offer greater automation, control, and flexibility in supply chain operations

Foster City, Calif., September 15, 2010 – E2open, the leading provider of cloud-based supply chain management solutions, today announced a new set of features and functionalities specifically designed to enable world-class, end-to-end business network collaboration for seamless process management. This latest release of the E2open solution now delivers native Excel integration capabilities, sophisticated self-service tools, and enhanced business intelligence features. True to the company's heritage of delivering cutting-edge technology and services to the world's leading global organizations, these enhancements are designed to empower the business user, accelerate time to value, and improve any organization's ability to successfully manage the increasing complexity within their supply chain.

“Today’s supply chains include a huge spectrum of critical participants—from industry giants to mom-and-pop shops in various geographies. Increasing our customers’ flexibility is key to enabling increased collaboration across that spectrum,” said Karthik Srinivasan, Chief Technology Officer at E2open. “E2open is excited to provide a number of new capabilities designed to put more power and control in the hands of our customers and their trading partners.”

Today’s announcement is significant for both business and technical users, as the new functionalities are designed to not only enhance usability but also improve the efficiency and profitability of today’s complex supply chains. Specific new features include:

  • Native Excel Integration:  E2open customers can now collaborate securely and electronically on key business processes with their small and medium-sized trading partners who to date have been executing these processes manually. The E2open Excel add-in enables secure bi-directional communication with customer solutions - without ever leaving the Excel interface.  Leveraging the already familiar Microsoft Excel application, this new functionality removes participation barriers, and provides both online and offline capabilities making total automated trading partner participation a reality.
  • Self-Service Capabilities: Customer administrators and trading partners benefit from a new level of convenience and efficiency, as they are now able to configure, test and activate their B2B connections on their own in their own time zone. In addition to onboarding tools, new self-service capabilities also include management of security certificates and sophisticated message controls (prioritize, hold, throttle)—all of which enable customers to on-board partners faster at significantly lower cost.
  • Business Intelligence Enhancements: E2open introduces 12 new standard reports to complement its existing BI Workbench, including multi-tier analytics for the buy-sell process, inventory trend level reports, three-way match reports for order management, and more. By enabling users to more accurately track, analyze, and manage their data, each report increases user control and results in more intelligent decision making.
