E2open Ranked a Leader in 2019 Nucleus Research Control Tower Value Matrix

Vendors are delivering value with control tower solutions and more automation across multiple tiers of the supply chain.

AUSTIN, Texas – October 2, 2019 – E2open, the one place in the cloud to run your supply chain, has once again been positioned by Nucleus Research as a Leader in the 2019 edition of the Control Tower Value Matrix – improving its position in both usability and functionality.

“E2open continues as a Leader in the 2019 edition of the Control Tower Matrix, having made several moves to extend its functionality and enable its customers to run applications end-to-end,” according to the report. “Most significantly, E2open completed the acquisition of Amber Road, which was also previously featured in this Value Matrix. With the addition of Amber Road, and other logistics acquisitions (Cloud Logistics and INTTRA), E2open now offers customers software to manage each stage of their supply chain from suppliers to global trade and logistics, and channel partners.”

According to the report, customers are looking for greater visibility across their extended supply chain and seek control tower solutions that cut across functional and organizational silos. In the last year, E2open introduced new artificial intelligence to assess impacts of deviations from the plan, understand which ones need attention, automatically evaluate cross-functional/cross-enterprise scenarios to create the best business outcomes and either recommend or directly execute the corrective actions.

E2open has also introduced several functionality and usability enhancements including the addition of global trade management as an evaluation factor and social media like activity streams for intuitive and user-friendly collaboration across departments and partners.

“More than ever, customers want to be able to understand the end-to-end impact of delays or changes to the plan. When things don’t go as planned, the question is no longer ’where is my stuff?’ but rather ‘what needs attention?’,” said Michael Farlekas, president and chief executive officer of E2open. “Answering this question requires the ability to see across multiple ecosystems, understand business impacts and act.  As the only vendor with a network spanning demand, supply and logistics ecosystems and a full range of intelligent applications E2open provides next generation control tower capabilities. The Nucleus Value Matrix’s strong functionality ranking and recognition of E2open as a perennial leader reflects our commitment to expand and provide a truly connected supply chain and deliver continuous value to our customers.”

Nucleus Research’s Control Tower Value Matrix is designed for consumers and prospects to understand what a vendor is bringing to market today and what to expect in the future. According to the report, E2open is “well-positioned to deliver on the end-to-end visibility and control required of modern control tower solutions.”
