What it Means to be Named a Leader in Transportation Management

We all know that being a leader takes a lot of strength, courage, discipline, and patience. As Vince Lombardi once said, “Leaders aren’t born. They are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work.” I believe Coach Lombardi’s concept—leaders are formed, developed, and forged through education, training, practice, and experience.

It’s interesting to see how software product development is like that of leader formation. It all starts with an idea based on a concept that fulfills a need. As the software goes through multiple releases and versions, the functionality continues to be refined and evolved to meet changing business needs, respond to user feedback, or innovate to read for future market demands. Eventually, the software solution reaches a high point as the leading choice to fulfill the needs of the industries served. E2open recognizes the time, talent, and tenacity necessary on this journey, and we are a proud leader in the supply chain software industry.

E2open has been named a Leader a few times now by Gartner, and we feel it is professionally and personally fulfilling for our entire company that Gartner has recognized e2open for our Transportation Management System (TMS) based on our completeness of vision and ability to execute.

We believe any company participating in the Gartner Magic Quadrant reports has one goal—to be in the “Leaders Quadrant.” A lot of cross-department collaboration is required to produce a successful submission. But it isn’t just about the reporting process. It’s about the year-round, perpetual hard work to plan, develop, and deliver technology that scores at or above average among other software vendors.

One of e2open’s strategic goals is to provide our customers with a rich, rewarding experience. It’s important to mention that being a leader in software often means having a strong focus on customer satisfaction. Companies that prioritize their customers’ needs and deliver innovative and effective solutions are more likely to retain their customers and receive positive feedback. We hope this is the case.

E2open is providing complimentary access to the 2023 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Transportation Management Systems (TMS).

Gartner Magic Quadrants help you:

  • Get quickly educated about a market’s competing technology providers and their ability to deliver what end users require today and in the future.
  • Understand how a market’s technology providers are competitively positioned and the strategies they are using to compete for end-user business.
  • Compare a technology provider’s strengths and challenges with your specific needs[i].

As a company, we are proud to be recognized as a leader in our industry and will continue to strive for excellence in everything we do.

What will AI in Supply Chains Look Like?

With all the excitement around AI these days, there is no shortage of opinions on what this will mean to us, both personally and to society as a whole. In one corner are tech fans who see AI as the cure-all to solve all our problems. In the other corner are the doomers who fear AI as a one-way ticket to end the human race, either self-inflicted or by the hands of machine overlords. While both make good headlines, it's likely to play out somewhere in the middle, varying by industry and skills involved.
