Procter & Gamble Implements Terra's Short-term Demand Sensing

A daily revision of the forecast of customer demand. It is a challenge that gives salesmen, marketeers and demand planners the shivers. Not so with the Procter & Gamble Company, which initiated the Intelligent Daily Forecasting (IDF) project. Using Terra Technology’s Demand Sensing (DS) solution, P&G generates a new forecast every day. The pilot project has proved such a success – in terms of reduced inventory levels, increased efficiency and improved forecast accuracy – that in June 2010 the solution is used in Western Europe, North America and South America. A further roll-out is envisaged in other regions as well.
