This month, we held a Q&A with Naveen Thynakathoot Sadanandan, Staff Systems Administrator at e2open.

Q: What’s your current role at e2open, and how long have you been with the company?

A: I’m currently serving as a Staff Systems Administrator at e2open, where I’ve been working for the past 10 years. In this role, I play a pivotal part in managing and securing the company’s global IT infrastructure. My responsibilities cover enterprise cloud environments particularly Microsoft Azure and include leading complex projects involving advanced integrations, infrastructure modernization, and system-wide security enhancements.

Q: What’s the most valuable skill you’ve developed in your time at e2open?

A: The most valuable skill I’ve developed is cloud security architecture and integration. Being at the forefront of securing enterprise environments has sharpened my ability to implement scalable, resilient solutions while proactively addressing cybersecurity threats a vital need in today’s cloud-first landscape.

Q: What advice would you give to someone just starting in their career?

A: Stay curious and never stop learning. Technology evolves rapidly, so being adaptable and investing in continuous skill development is key. Also, don’t hesitate to ask questions collaboration and mentorship are powerful growth accelerators.

Q: In your experience, what are the biggest challenges supply chain leaders face today?

A: Supply chain leaders today face growing challenges around real-time visibility, cybersecurity, and adaptability to global disruptions. Integrating secure digital infrastructure while maintaining agility is essential. My work directly supports these goals by enabling secure, efficient technology operations at scale.

Q: What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of work?

A: Outside of work, I enjoy biking, exploring new technologies, and occasionally playing strategy-based games. They keep me sharp, energized, and often offer a fresh perspective that I bring back into my work environment.

Q: What was your dream job when you were a child?

A: As a child, I always dreamed of becoming a scientist or engineer someone who solved real-world problems through innovation. Working in IT today is a realization of that dream in many ways, as I get to design solutions that make global operations more secure and efficient.

Q: What personal strengths have helped you most in your career?

A: Resilience, attention to detail, and a problem-solving mindset have been cornerstones of my career. These traits have helped me not only troubleshoot complex systems but also anticipate potential issues before they arise which is critical in systems and security management.

Q: If you could have three wishes granted by a genie, what would they be?

A: 1. Continued good health and well-being for my family and loved ones. 2. The opportunity to travel and explore cultures around the world. 3. A world where technology is used ethically and inclusively to uplift communities globally.

Q: Out of all the places you’ve been to, what is your favorite and why?

A: One of my favorite places is Switzerland. Its combination of natural beauty, innovation, and cultural richness made a lasting impression and reminded me of the importance of balance something I try to bring to both life and work.

Q: What is your go-to drink, meal, and dessert choice?

A: My go-to drink is definitely a cold Coca-Cola. When it comes to meals, I can never say no to a flavorful, well-made biryani. As for dessert, it’s a toss-up between warm gulab jamun and a decadent slice of rich chocolate cake, it really depends on my mood!
