Employee Spotlight

E2open is powered by a strong global network of problem solvers and innovators driven by strong values and our company culture. Together, we are focused on doing what’s right in business and our communities. Every month, we will shine a spotlight on an exceptional team member who is helping us transform the supply chain industry. This month, we held a Q&A with Daniel Branch, Logistics Manager at e2open.

Q: How long have you been working for e2open?

A: Three years, all in the Logistics as a Service (LaaS) department.

Q: Describe a typical day for you at e2open.

A: Lots of interaction with people – customer calls, carrier calls, team calls – and a little more time on a computer than my body appreciates.

Q: What is your favorite part about your job?

A: Developing reliable and anti-fragile people and systems that benefit my customers.

Q: How did you get started in the supply chain industry?

A: Years ago, I visited a friend at the Holland, MI office and got to take in the atmosphere and culture of the LaaS department. When it came time for a career change in 2021, I looked no further because of what I’d experienced, and thankfully, the supply chain industry gave me a chance.

Q: What are three things that motivate you the most in your job?

A: First, the bigger picture vision of bringing peace into the chaos of the supply chain ecosystem. Second, watching members of my team grow. Third, building lasting relationships.

Q: What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long day?

A: Either rolling around on the ground with my two daughters (5 & 3 years old) or a long run.

Q: If you had to compete in the Olympics, what sport/event would you choose and why?

A: Summer Olympics: beach volleyball because I love volleyball, especially diving without real consequence. Winter Olympics: ski jumping because flying would be amazing.

Q:  Who is the most important person in your life and why?

A: My wife. She is the loveliest human I know, modeling love, honesty, service, and pursuit of others every day.

Q: Do you have any pets? If so, what are they, and what are their names?

A: No pets!

Q: What hobby are you most passionate about?

A: See answer to question 6.

Leveraging Data in Channel Management to Grow Market Coverage

At some point, you’ve likely heard the adage, “Go where your customers are.” Nowhere could this be truer than in channel management, where optimizing market coverage is a major priority and a driver of growth. However, the recent evolution of the channel landscape has added more complexity to the process. In just two decades, the number of channels available to both B2B and B2C consumers has expanded, creating a “good problem” for companies seeking to increase channel sales.

Improving Channel Performance with the Right Channel Management Software

Close your eyes and think about all the places you can now purchase products. There are traditional brick-and-mortar retail outlets like GAP or Dick’s Sporting Goods, or online e-commerce sites like Amazon or Newegg. You can click an ad you see on Instagram or Facebook, or maybe your favorite YouTuber shared a new product. It's never been easier for companies to reach customers. However, this proliferation of channels presents brands with a plate of jumbled spaghetti noodles – disparate partners and mounds of unorganized data – and they are left to try and sort out one strand of pasta from the next. Such complexity demands a more sophisticated, organized approach to channel management.
