What it Means to be Named a Leader in Transportation Management

6 min Read

We all know that being a leader takes a lot of strength, courage, discipline, and patience. As Vince Lombardi once said, “Leaders aren’t born. They are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work.” I believe Coach Lombardi’s concept—leaders are formed, developed, and forged through education, training, practice, and experience.

It’s interesting to see how software product development is like that of leader formation. It all starts with an idea based on a concept that fulfills a need. As the software goes through multiple releases and versions, the functionality continues to be refined and evolved to meet changing business needs, respond to user feedback, or innovate to read for future market demands. Eventually, the software solution reaches a high point as the leading choice to fulfill the needs of the industries served. E2open recognizes the time, talent, and tenacity necessary on this journey, and we are a proud leader in the supply chain software industry.

E2open has been named a Leader a few times now by Gartner, and we feel it is professionally and personally fulfilling for our entire company that Gartner has recognized e2open for our Transportation Management System (TMS) based on our completeness of vision and ability to execute.

We believe any company participating in the Gartner Magic Quadrant reports has one goal—to be in the “Leaders Quadrant.” A lot of cross-department collaboration is required to produce a successful submission. But it isn’t just about the reporting process. It’s about the year-round, perpetual hard work to plan, develop, and deliver technology that scores at or above average among other software vendors.

One of e2open’s strategic goals is to provide our customers with a rich, rewarding experience. It’s important to mention that being a leader in software often means having a strong focus on customer satisfaction. Companies that prioritize their customers’ needs and deliver innovative and effective solutions are more likely to retain their customers and receive positive feedback. We hope this is the case.

E2open is providing complimentary access to the 2023 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Transportation Management Systems (TMS).

Gartner Magic Quadrants help you:

  • Get quickly educated about a market’s competing technology providers and their ability to deliver what end users require today and in the future.
  • Understand how a market’s technology providers are competitively positioned and the strategies they are using to compete for end-user business.
  • Compare a technology provider’s strengths and challenges with your specific needs[i].

As a company, we are proud to be recognized as a leader in our industry and will continue to strive for excellence in everything we do.

Beyond the Next Tariff: Building Disruption Ready Supply Chains

In today’s world, change doesn’t wait for five-year plans. It arrives overnight, sometimes in the form of sweeping tariffs that redraw the global trade map. For manufacturers, retailers, and distributors, every new trade policy carries a ripple effect that can disrupt sourcing, production, distribution, and profitability. The recent “Liberation Day Tariffs” sent another jolt through already cautious markets. Companies scrambled, supply chains flexed, and sourcing strategies bent under pressure. With U.S.–China negotiations underway, we can hope for de-escalation but must be ready for anything. Trade policy moves fast, and hits markets just as quickly. Beneath today’s moment of relief is a fundamental truth: tariffs aren’t the first and won’t be the last cause of volatility. They just remind us how exposed many supply chains really are. Risk never left, and it’s not going away. The real question isn’t when the next disruption will come; it’s whether yo...
